A Word from the Honorary Chair

I was very proud, and pleased to accept the Honorary Chairmanship of the third edition of the Aluminium Valley Trade Show. Associated with the Trade Show right from the very beginning, Rio Tinto Alcan has become, over the past editions, a first-rate partner of the Aluminium Valley in Business Trade Show. Indeed, financial support from Rio Tinto Alcan has given national and international exposure to the Aluminium Valley’s thriving expertise and know-how. Need I mention that this get-together focussing on aluminium has become a high-priority tradition over the years. Fully in keeping with Rio Tinto Alcan’s targeted sustainability goals, itblends perfectly with our regional industrial development efforts.

Finally, the Trade Show is of the utmost importance for the Aluminium Valley, and I would like to congratulate the organisers for their efforts in pulling together this great event. Please join me and all of the participants in celebrating the success stories we see here, and in taking an active part in the development of the Aluminium Valley around the world.

AVS 2009 - More than just a trade show…

To better focus trade show events on aluminium, the Aluminium Valley in Business Trade Show 2009 will be preceded by two technical symposiums to be held on January 20th: Process Dust Control, co-ordinated by Sefar BDH and Aluminium Durability and Surface Coatings, a joint presentation by Trans-Al Network Inc., CQRDA and NRC. Mr. Gobeil also mentioned that, “by highlighting the cutting-edge expertise of its businesses and partners, AVS 2009 events aim to position the Aluminium Valley as a world leading aluminium industry hub.”

Furthermore, IDÉA Innovation PME has joined the ranks of the Aluminium Valley Society team to add yet another component to the 2009 edition of the Trade Show. Innovation and Design offers participants a variety of industry-pertinent workshops, conferences, exhibits and much more.
